Laster received a degree in early childhood education from Southeast Missouri State University in 2003. She is a substitute teacher and is employed at Gymboree.

McCullough received a degree in history from Southeast in 2001. He is a teaching assistant and graduate student in history at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.

An Oct. 23 wedding is planned at Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.
