Matthew graduated from Buffalo State College in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in social studies education and a Master of Science degree in special education in 2011. He is a special education teacher at the Gillis School in Kansas City.
An Oct. 6, 2017, wedding is planned in Kansas City.
