Kiefer-Santel

Dwight and Karen Kiefer of Cape Girardeau and Pat and Orville Baer of Perryville, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Carrie Ann Kiefer, to Steven Robert Santel. He is the son of Robert and Dorene Santel of Troy, Ill.

Kiefer is a 1996 graduate of Perryville High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She is pursuing a master's degree in education.

Santel is a 1995 graduate of Collinsville High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. He is an aerospace engineer with the Department of Defense.

A Sept. 3 wedding is planned at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville.
