NEW HAMBURG, Mo. -- Mr. and Mrs. Aloysius Otto Kern Jr. of New Hamburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Denitra Michelle Kern, to Steven Dale Holman Jr. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Pullen Sr. of Charleston, Mo., and the late Steven Holman.

Kern is a graduate of Thomas W. Kelly High School in Benton, Mo. She received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University in 1998. She is a registered nurse with Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Missouri in Cape Girardeau.

Holman is a 1996 graduate of Charleston High School. He is employed at Utility Trailers of Sikeston Inc.

A June 21 wedding is planned.
