Johnson is a 1997 graduate of Jackson High School. She received a bachelor's degree in social work from Southeast Missouri State University in 2001.

Adams is a 1995 graduate of Jackson High School. He received a bachelor's degree in agricultural business from Missouri Valley College in 2000. He expects to receive a master's degree in management from Missouri Valley College in June.

A Feb. 2 wedding is planned at First Baptist Church.
