Illers-Beard

Mark and Karen Illers of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Lynn Illers, to LeRoy Jacob Beard. He is the son of Carolyn Beard of Farmington, Mo., and LeRoy Beard of St. Louis.

Illers is a 1998 graduate of Jackson High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in social work from Southeast Missouri State University in 2002. She is a community support worker in children's services at BJC Behavioral Health Services in Farmington.

Beard is a 1998 graduate of Farmington High School, and a 2001 graduate of Mineral Area Law Enforcement Academy. He is a police officer with the city of Farmington.

An Oct. 4 wedding is planned at New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.
