Hilbert - Houchins

William Hilbert and Sissy Donahue of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Hilbert, to Jared Houchins, both of Lexington, Ky. He is the son of Tom and Darlene Houchins of Marble Hill, Mo.

Hilbert is a 2002 graduate of Jackson High School. She received a bachelor of science degree from Southeast Missouri State University, and is pursuing a master's degree at the University of Kentucky. She is a teaching assistant at the university.

Houchins is a 2001 graduate of Woodland High School. He received an associate degree from Mineral Area College, and a bachelor's degree in health management and exercise science from Southeast. He is a physical therapy technician at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

A Sept. 6 wedding is planned at the gazebo in Common Pleas Courthouse Park.
