Mr. and Mrs. Rick Goring of Higginsville, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Nicole Paige Goring, to Christopher Lee Vowels. He is the son of Carol Vowels of Cape Girardeau.

Goring received a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Central Missouri State University in 2002. She is a lead teacher at College Avenue Infant and Toddler Center in Manhattan, Kan.

Vowels received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and biology from the university in 2001. He is pursuing a Ph.D. in psychology at Kansas State University.
