Larry Fitzgerald of Sunrise Beach, Mo., and Cathy Fitzgerald of Salisbury, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Dawn Fitzgerald, to Jason Lynn Bowers. He is the son of Mike and Debbie Bowers of Cape Girardeau. Fitzgerald is a 2001 graduate of Salisbury R-IV High School, and is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in nursing and psychology at Southeast Missouri State University. She is employed at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Bowers is a 1995 graduate of Central High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in interdisciplinary studies from Southeast University in 2000. He is employed at Southeast Hospital.

An Aug. 4 wedding is planned at St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
