KELSO, Mo. -- Jerome and Beverly Essner of Kelso announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Beth Essner, to Ryan Alan Mattes. He is the son of Wayne and Kathy Mattes of Cape Girardeau. KELSO, Mo. -- Jerome and Beverly Essner of Kelso announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Beth Essner, to Ryan Alan Mattes. He is the son of Wayne and Kathy Mattes of Cape Girardeau.

Essner is a 2000 graduate of Notre Dame High School. She expects to receive a degree in elementary education from Southeast Missouri State University in December 2003.

Mattes is a 1997 graduate of Notre Dame High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy in 2002, and expects to receive a doctorate of pharmacy from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in May 2003.

A June 14 wedding is planned at St. Augustine Catholic Church.
