JACKSON, Mo. -- Gerald Bruce and Jackie Wortmann of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Deborah Susan Wortmann, to Jeremy Andrew Wachter. He is the son of Allen and Anna Mae Wachter of Jackson.

Wortmann is a 1997 graduate of Jackson High School. She expects to receive a bachelor of science degree in communication disorders from Southeast Missouri State University in May.
