ENGAGEMENTS: SMITH-SPAETH

Joel and Mary Smith and Voyann Smith of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Ann Smith, to Tyler Brent Spaeth. He is the son of Brent and Judy Spaeth of Southlake, Texas, and Bob and Wanda Brosey of Cape Girardeau.

Smith is a 1994 graduate of Notre Dame High School. She expects to receive a bachelor's degree in social work from Southeast Missouri State University in December.

Spaeth is a 1993 graduate of Notre Dame High School. He received a bachelor's degree in business finance from Southeast University in 1999. He is club accountant at Eagle's Landing.

A Jan. 26 wedding is planned at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
