ARAB, Mo. -- Jim and Mary Meyer of Arab announce the engagement of their daughter, Dorette Raye Meyer, to Christopher Allan Simmers, both of West Plains, Mo. He is the son of Betty Simmers of Advance, Mo. Meyer is a 1996 graduate of Zalma High School at Zalma, Mo. She is pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing at Southeast Missouri State University...

ARAB, Mo. -- Jim and Mary Meyer of Arab announce the engagement of their daughter, Dorette Raye Meyer, to Christopher Allan Simmers, both of West Plains, Mo. He is the son of Betty Simmers of Advance, Mo.

Meyer is a 1996 graduate of Zalma High School at Zalma, Mo. She is pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing at Southeast Missouri State University.

Simmers is a 1996 graduate of Zalma High School, and received a degree in industrial technology from Southeast University in 1999. He is a quality engineer at Systems and Electronics in West Plains.

An Aug. 5 wedding is planned at Bethel Church in Advance.
