SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Norman and Sharon Hughes of Scott City announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Lynn Hughes, to Simon Paul Irvin. He is the son of Thomas and Sydney Irvin of Scott City.

Hughes is attending Southeast Missouri State University. She is employed at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
