BENTON, Mo. -- Tim and Jeanne Essner of Benton announce the engagement of their daughter, Kari Ann Essner, to James Gregory Wilhelm. He is the son of Francine Brooks and John Wilhelm of Scott City, Mo.

Essner is a 1996 graduate of Thomas W. Kelly High School, and is attending Southeast Missouri State University. She is employed at SEMO Title in Sikeston, Mo.

Wilhelm attended Scott City High School. He is employed at Midwest Acoustics and Drywall Inc. in Scott City.

A Nov. 17 wedding is planned at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, Mo.
