JACKSON, Mo. -- Mr. and Mrs. James W. Blattel of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Blattel, to Kody Newkirk of Paducah, Ky. He is the son of Jackie Lewis of Newnan, Ga., and the late Clifford Newkirk.

Blattel is a graduate of Jackson High School, and Shawnee Community College in Ullin, Ill. She is a sales consultant with State Beauty Supply in Paducah.
