Dougherty - Floyd

Mike and Kandy Dougherty of Arvada, Colo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathleen Elizabeth Dougherty, to Brian Lawrence Floyd, both of Dayton, Ky. He is the son of Roger and Judy Pyle of Monroe, Ohio, and Phil and Cheryl Floyd of Okeana, Ohio.

Dougherty attended Central High School where she played basketball and softball. She attended Columbia College, Southeast Missouri State University, and received a bachelor of science in accounting from Northern Kentucky University. She is a billing specialist III in the accounting department at Lerner Sampson and Rothfuss.

Floyd attended Ross Senior High School where he played football and wrestled. He joined Ohio Army National Guard, attended Miami University where he wrestled and received a bachelor's degree in microbiology. He served 10 years in the military, including a tour in Germany. He is a level 3 research assistant in the Diagnostic Immunology Laboratory at Cincinnati Children's Hospital and Medical Center.

An Oct. 2 wedding is planned in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
