Curtis is a 1997 graduate of Chaffee High School, and is pursuing an associate's degree for medical specialist at Metro Business College. She is also a licensed cosmetologist.

Crites is a 2000 graduate of Scott County Central High School, and is pursuing an associate's degree in elementary education at Three Rivers Community College. He is a phlebotomist at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

A spring 2006 wedding is planned.
