John and Dixie Crites of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Courtney Renee Crites, to John Kelly Peterson, both of Denver, Colorado. He is the son of John and Carol Peterson of Omaha, Nebraska.

Courtney attended Norwalk Community College in Norwalk, Connecticut, and Southeast Missouri State University. She is a technology field manager at Office Depot in Denver.

John received a bachelor of science degree in finance and marketing from Iowa State University, and a master's degree in business administration from St. Louis University. He is chairman and CEO of OTT Communications in Denver.

A Nov. 1 wedding is planned at New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.
