Steve Catalano of Vancouver, Wash., announces the engagement of his daughter, Amanda Michelle Catalano, to Matthew Thomas Cuba, both of Las Cruces, N.M. He is the son of Rick and Rhonda Cuba of Cape Girardeau. Catalano is also the daughter of the late Sondra Catalano.
Catalano is a 2004 graduate of Mountain View High School in Vancouver. She received a bachelor of arts degree in applied linguistics from Portland State University in 2009. She received a master of arts in anthropology, specializing in cultural anthropology and museum studies, from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces in 2012.
Cuba is a 1999 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. He received a bachelor of arts degree in anthropology from Southeast Missouri State University in 2004. He expects to receive a master of arts degree in anthropology, specializing in archaeology, from New Mexico State University in 2013. He is a staff archaeologist with Ama Terra Environmental Co.
An Aug. 4 wedding is planned at Sanctuary on the River in Ruidoso, N.M.
