Phil and Joyce Carson of Oakdale, Ill., announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Carson, to Aaron Geis. He is the son of Rick and Barb Geis of Cape Girardeau.

Carson received a bachelor's degree in English education and a master's degree in English from Southeast Missouri State University. She is an English teacher at Jackson High School.

Geis received a bachelor's degree in political science from Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, and a master of arts degree in international affairs from Marquette University. He is general manager at Culver's in Cape Girardeau.

A Dec. 28 wedding is planned at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
