Brown - Heckert

Bill and Pat Heckert of Fallbrook, Calif., formerly of Cape Girardeau, announce the engagement of their son, Justin William Heckert, to Amanda Kathleen Brown, both of Atlanta, Ga. She is the daughter of Lee and Rene Brown of Inman, S.C.

Heckert is a graduate of Central High School. He received a degree in journalism from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He is a writer with ESPN The Magazine.

Brown is a graduate of Chapman High School. She received a degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina. She is senior editor of Atlanta Magazine.

A May 2 wedding is planned at The Acanthus on Lake Lyman in upstate South Carolina.
