Boatner - Burdin

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Boatner of Lakeland, Fla., announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Elizabeth Boatner, to Taylor David Burdin, both of Cape Girardeau. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Burdin of Cape Girardeau.

Boatner is a 2008 graduate of Santa Fe Catholic High School in Lakeland. She received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of Mississippi-Oxford in 2012. She is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in nursing at Southeast Missouri State University.

Burdin is a 2005 graduate of Santa Fe High School in Lakeland. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., in 2008, and a master in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University in 2009. He is a certified public accountant and chief operating officer with Precision Insurance and Financial Services Inc. in Cape Girardeau.

An Aug. 3 wedding is planned at Paris-Yates Chapel on the campus of the University of Mississippi.
