Barbour-Bertrand

Dr. and Mrs. Richard J. Swartz of Cape Girardeau and Mr. and Mrs. R. Kevin Barbour Sr. of Poplar Bluff, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Kathryn "Katie" Barbour of Memphis, Tenn., to Adam Christopher Bertrand of Cape Girardeau. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Bertrand of Cape Girardeau.

Barbour is a 1999 graduate of Central High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Mississippi-Oxford in 2003, and expects to receive a doctorate of pharmacy degree from the university in May.

Bertrand is a 1998 graduate of Central High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in bio-medical sciences from Auburn University in Auburn, Ala., in 2004. He is employed at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

A June 11 wedding is planned at Centenary United Methodist Church.
