Abt-McBryde

Kenneth and Elizabeth Abt of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Wendy Marie Abt, to Lance William McBryde. He is the son of Lawrence and Dorris McBryde Jr. of Jackson.

Abt is a 1996 graduate of Ste. Genevieve High School. She received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Central Methodist College in 2000, and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from William Woods University in 2003. She is a third grade teacher with Jackson School District.

McBryde is a 1995 graduate of Jackson High School. He received a bachelor's degree in animal science from Southeast Missouri State University in 2000. He is a GPS coordinator and chemical sprayer with MFA.

An Oct. 23 wedding is planned at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ste. Genevieve.
