Workforce Employment notes 10th anniversary

FARMINGTON -- Workforce Employment Solutions personnel recently visited Discovery Ridge Tiger Sanctuary to celebrate its 10-year anniversary.

The staffing firm's 21 employees from the region enjoyed a gourmet breakfast, toured the tiger sanctuary and noted how Workforce has grown from one office in Farmington to six regional offices and two out-of state offices.

"This was a very special occasion for us," said Marlene Brockmiller, president of Workforce. "We wanted it to be a memorable event and the folks at Discovery Ridge certainly made it special. We could not have picked a better place."

Discovery Ridge, located in Coffman, Mo., is a sanctuary to five rare Bengal tigers. Owners Judy McGee and Keith Kinkade recently bought the land from DePaul University and are developing a center for education of endangered species. The center will be supported by a bed-and-breakfast operation, open for business by the end of the summer.
