Owner of Concepts Styling Salon in Cape Girardeau
WHERE SHE'S BEEN: Thirty-four-year-old Johnson is married to husband Mike and has a 7-year-old daughter. She was born and raised in Cape Girardeau and attended Stage One Hair School in 1995. She has owned Concepts since 2006.
WHERE SHE'S GOING: "In five years I hope to be still chasing after my awesome daughter and watching my business grow. I feel so blessed to have a successful business and I want to continue to give back by using Concepts for charitable events and fundraising. I feel it is important for our community to continue providing opportunity for the next generation of leaders. I recently started a program in my salon for young stylists just graduating. The new stylist will work as my assistant for a period of months and get extensive hands-on training with me. This allows them to learn and perfect their skills while they build their own business and also receive a guaranteed income." As for her profession's future, Johnson says, "I love my career! I love being a stylist and making people feel beautiful every single day. I am fortunate to have an ever-changing career. Styles change so often that we continue to stay inspired and fresh with our guests!"
