Gas prices slightly increased over the past week, with averages for regular gas rising 4 cents to $3.49 a gallon nationally and 7 cents to $3.13 per gallon in Missouri.
Though numerous states had averages below $3 a gallon in previous weeks, only Mississippi’s average remains below that amount this week, at $2.93 a gallon for regular gasoline. California’s average remains the nation’s highest at $4.79 per gallon.
Diesel prices saw a small bump, with the national average for diesel fuel staying put at $3.81 per gallon and the Missouri average jumping 4 cents to $3.43 a gallon.
Regular fuel prices fluctuated only a single cent, up and down respectively, in Scott and Perry counties. In Cape Girardeau, however, the average cost of regular fuel rose by 6 cents.
