Steven Fritzler has earned the chartered financial consultant professional designation from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Penn. Candidates for the distinction must complete at least eight courses and 16 hours of examinations, and must also fulfill stringent experience and ethics requirements. Fritzler is a financial consultant with Faith Financial Planners Inc. in Cape Girardeau.

Woodmen of the World/Assured Life Association recently announced that Jerry Boswell has been elected chairman of its board of directors. The company is a 114-year old fraternal benefit association that does insurance business in 38 states out of its home office in Lone Tree, Colo. Boswell is a Cape Girardeau native and is a graduate of Central High School. He currently resides in Highlands Ranch, Colo.

Sandy Helwege, broker/associate with Coldwell Banker Hamilton Realty in Cape Girardeau, recently spent a weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah, by Coldwell Banker Corp., which put 120 agents from around the country into the Grand American Hotel for a conference. During the conference, Helwege earned the designation certified negotiation specialist and certified e-marketing specialist. The conference was called President's Elite Retreat and is offered to agents with annual outstanding production. Barbara Bush was a speaker at the conference, and Elizabeth Smart, the girl who was kidnapped from Salt Lake City and then found, entertained by sharing masterful pieces on her harp. Helwege met with the president and CEO of Coldwell Banker Corp., Jim Gillespie.

Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau has named William LaFoe to its board of directors with appointment approval from Bishop John Leibrecht of the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau. LaFoe is a cardiologist with Cardiovascular Consultants Inc. of Cape Girardeau.

Ronald Cook, feeder driver for the United Parcel Service, was recently honored for completing 25 years of service with the company. Cook, a resident of Sikeston, works out of the UPS facility in St. Louis.

Roger Elledge II of Sikeston Motor Co. Inc. graduated recently from the Dealer Candidate Academy of the National Automobile Dealers Association. This specialized training curriculum is designed to prepare dealer-successors and key management personnel to operate a new car or truck dealership. Elledge plans to use the skills developed at the Academy to prepare for further management responsibilities at his family-owned dealership.

Thomas M. Meyer of Thomas L. Meyer Realty Co. of Cape Girardeau recently attended the first Missouri Economic Development Summit held in Jefferson City. The summit featured a number of Missouri business leaders.
