James W. Wente, administrator of Southeast Missouri Hospital, has been recertified as a Diplomate of the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society representing almost 30,000 health care executives.
College Diplomates are required to recertify their professional competence every six years. To date, there are approximately 6,500 health care executives in the national who hold the status of Diplomate.
In addition to his duties as Southeast administrator, Wente has served as a member of the Missouri Hospital Association (MHA) Board of Trustees since 1993. He served as board chairman in 1988. He is also a member of the Board of Managers and chairman-elect of the Health Alliance of MidAmerica, an affiliation of the Missouri and Kansas Hospitals Associations.
Besides MHA work on the state level, Wente has served as president of District VII of MHA, an area representing hospitals in the Southeastern portion of the state. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Management Services Corporation, a subsidiary service corporation of MHA, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Educational and Research Trust of the Missouri Hospital Association.
Wente's community service includes service as a member of the Board of Directors for the Area Wide United Way; member of Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce and past chairman of its Board of Directors; Investment Advisory Committee for the city of Cape Girardeau; member of the Board of Directors for the Bank of Missouri and membership in the Jackson Chamber of Commerce.
