Pat Zellmer, advertising director of the Southeast Missourian newspaper, has been named "Display Advertising Director of the Year" by Suburban Newspapers of America (SNA).
Zellmer will receive her award during the SNA Retail Advertising Conference in New York City later this month.
Zellmer was nominated by Wally Lage, publisher of the Southeast Missourian.
Zellmer joined the Southeast Missourian staff in 1990 as director of special projects. She was named director of classified advertising in 1991; regional advertising coordinator for Rust Communications in 1992 and director of advertising at the Southeast Missourian in 1993.
She has been responsible for a number of targeted publications -- Business Today, TBY: The Best Years, Homes, Spirit, Youth Sports Review, Newcomers Guide and many others. The Missourian in 1995 published 186 niche publications, plus 10 coupon books and desk calendars.
She is responsible for all local advertising in the Missourian. In addition, she serves in a staff role as regional advertising coordinator of the Rust Communications network, which includes six dailies and 11 weekly papers.
Zellmer is a member of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce and on leadership committees for Teen Challenge and Heartland for Christ.
