Ann Albrecht, a nurse in Southeast Missouri Hospital's Intensive Care Unit, has received the "2000 Critical Care Nurse of the Year" award, presented by the Southeast Chapter of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.

Albrecht, a Southeast nurse since 1983, received her nursing degree from Southeast Missouri State University and holds a critical care nurse designation.

Albrecht is secretary of the Southeast Chapter of the AACN and a member of the national AACN. Last year, she served as a volunteer with the Jamaican "Christian Medical Mission, and is working with the 2001 Jamaican mission. She is a basic life support instructor and holds advanced cardiac life support credentials.
