Dr. Morris H. Seligman has joined Southeast Missouri Hospital's administrative staff.
Seligman started his new duties as director of medical affairs today.
His appointment was announced by hospital administrator James W. Wente.
Seligman earned his medical degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at St. Mary's Health Center in St. Louis. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP). He is a member of the American College of Physician Executives, and recently earned his Certified Physician Executive credential from the College. He is also certified both as a medical review officer and an independent medical examiner. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians.
Seligman's role as director of medical affairs will include overseeing and serving as a resource on medical staff issues as well as working with the medical executive committee and all other medical staff departments and committees. Southeast's medical staff includes more than 180 physicians representing more than 40 medical specialties.
Prior to coming to Cape Girardeau, Seligman served as medical director of occupational medicine for Wesley Medical Center, a community teaching medical center in Wichita, Kan. Wesley Medical Center is affiliated with the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
