June Long of Patton, Mo., has joined the Private Industry Council of Southeast Missouri as coordinator of workshop training. She will work out of the One Top Career Center at 760 S. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau.

Long, who previously worked as human resource manager for Cap America at Fredericktown, Mo., had served three years on the PIC board, and the past year on the Workforce Investment Board of Southeast Missouri.

She resigned from the board to take her new position, leaving a vacancy on the Workforce board in Madison County. The Workforce board is made up of two private sector members from each county. The board meets monthly at Cape Girardeau.

Long will work with people who are out work because of plant closings or cutbacks and will conduct workshop training in the 13 counties of Southeast Missouri.
