"As a public radio station, we have a commitment to local programming," said General Manager Greg Petrowich. "Jake has a great deal of experience working with our local program hosts and developing feature stories. With the number of programs we now produce in house, we needed a single staff person devoted to our local efforts."

Listeners already are benefiting from McCleland's work. He recently produced a series of reports on downtown revitalization projects in the three river towns -- Cape Girardeau; Cairo, Ill.; and Paducah, Ky.
