Associated Electric Cooperative Inc., headquartered at Springfield, Mo., recently honored 21 employees from its New Madrid power plant during the Excel awards ceremony held at Thomas Hill Energy Center, Clifton Hill, Mo.
Excel, in its eighth year, is an employee recognized program.
Recognized were Jimmy King, shift supervisor, Supervisor of the Year; Lisa Greer, office assistant III, Employee of Year in Secretarial or Clerical Field; Dave Evans, senior engineer, Employee of Year in Technical Field; Garlan Hughes, coordinator, and Alice Swilley, engineering project coordinator, Outstanding Community Service awards.
A special award, Commendation for Courageous Response, was presented to Lynn Atchley, shift supervisor; Mike Barnes, assistant shift supervisor; Dale Chamberlain, control room operator; Joyce Henke, auxiliary operator; Goldie Howard, assistant control room operator; Rick Lowrance, auxiliary operator; Ryan Mayo, auxiliary operator; Craig Phillips, auxiliary operator; Christ Tollison, assistant control room operator; and Larry White, control room operator.
Awards for 30 years of service were presented to Edna R. Ellington and Buster M. Hampton, and for 25 years to J. Ron Faries, H. Mike Gowan, Tommy D. Johnson and Jimmy King.
