Kimberly Bonney of Jackson recently completed two courses in occupational medicine in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Bonney, who is employed by Occupational Medical Services, LLC., 60 Doctors' Park in Cape Girardeau, received certification for the National Institute of Safety and Health (NIOSH) spirometry course. Spirometry testing is used in conjunction with respirator approval for the diagnosis of potential breathing or lung problems and smoking cessation.
She also completed a NIOSH and Council for Accreditation in Occupation Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) course as a certified industrial hearing conservationist.
This will allow Bonney to assist local industry in establishing an effecting hearing conservation program to prevent hearing loss in the workplace.
