The training, sponsored by the Missouri Dental Association, Missouri Health Department's Bureau of the Dental Health and the State Emergency Management Agency, is designed help dentists perform forensic identification in the event of a mass disaster, such as airline disasters or bombings.

Dental remains are the only way to identify some victims. Teeth are durable and are not normally destroyed, even in fire.
