Carl Curry has been named 1993 Realtor of the Year by the Cape Girardeau County Board of Realtors.
Curry, president of the board, is broker/owner of Century 21-Dutch Realty. He received his award during the board's recent Christmas and awards banquet.
Boatmen's Bank, one of the board's oldest affiliate members, received the 1993 Affiliate Member of the Year award.
Janet Felter of Benton, office manager and special projects coordinator of the marketing and public relations department at St. Francis Medical Center, has been named the hospital's "Employee of the Year."
Felter, one of 12 candidates for the annual honor, received her award from St. Francis president John E. Fidler during the medical center's Christmas party, held earlier this month. All 1,300 employees at the center had an opportunity to vote for the selection.
Felter has been an employee at the medical center since January 1989.
Lori Siebert has been named "Employee of the Year" at South East Missouri Bank.
She received her award from Thomas L. Meyer, chairman of the board, during the bank's annual Christmas party, held at the Cape Girardeau Country Club.
Siebert, a loan secretary, has been employed at South East Bank for eight years.
Terry Langston has been named "Employee of the Year" at Concord Publishing Co.
He received his award from Southeast Missourian publisher Wally Lage during the publishing company's annual Christmas party, held at the Cape Girardeau Country Club.
Mark Busch has been elected president of the Missouri Dental Laboratory Association.
Busch, a 1982 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, is a certified dental technician. He is vice president of River City Dental Arts, 889 N. Kingshighway.
Busch also is serving a three-year term as a delegate for the National Dental Laboratory Association.
Twenty-five truck drivers were honored recently at the Genesis Transportation Co. Inc. Safety and Awards Banquet, held at the Holiday Inn in Cape Girardeau.
Awards were presented by the American Trucking Association and Great West Casualty Co. for a committed total of more than 3 million miles of accident-free driving.
Bill Yeargain received an award for 24 years of safe driving; Connie Dillon of Wappapello was honored for 19 years safe driving and Harold Lindsey of Dexter was honored for 16 years safe driving.
Others honored were: Vernon Davis, Anna, Ill., 15 years; Jack McCall, Sedgewickville, 12; Cliff Flath, Glen Allen, 10; Otis Johnson, Jackson, Charlie Smith, Poplar Bluff and Tom VanDeVen, Marble Hill, nine years; Bill Keller and Henry Winters, Cape Girardeau, eight years; John Crockett of Benton, six years; Bob Mathis, McClure, Ill., Jerry Sterling of Cape Girardeau, and Dale Tierney, Chaffee, five years; and Randy Blankenship, Wappapello, Jerry Grooms, Jackson and Robert Tilson, Parma, three years. One-year awards went to Ed Fellows and Gene Maevers, Cape Girardeau, Kenny Foltz, Burfordville, David Lanigan, Marble Hill, Jim Pate of Scott City and Jerry Thomason of Chaffee.
Safe workers awards were also presented to shop personnel Tom Wright, George Green and Todd Scheffer, all of Cape Girardeau.
Darla Beggs of Jackson, a Mary Kay Cosmetics Inc. consultant, has qualified as a team manager and earned the use of a new car.
Beggs had to meet specific sales and recruiting requirements to qualify as team manager. Her team consists of Evelyn Mitchem, Leisa Blisset, Sharlet Giltner, Sherry Siebert, Tina King, Lisa Glastetter, Cathy Beggs, Gloria McCoy, Nena Glastetter, Pam Mitchem, Karen Ernst, Bonnie Scheffer and Paula Hendrix.
