Paula Bollinger of Jackson has joined D-J's Beauty Mart, 1020 N. Kingshighway, in Cape Girardeau as a hair stylist.

Bollinger, a graduate of Stage One The Beauty School in Cape Girardeau, has about six months experience.

Rob Francis of Jackson has become a certified chimney sweep.

Francis owns and operates Dr. Soot Chimney Services in Jackson.

"I've been involved as a chimney sweep since 1987," said Francis. "I've had my own company three years."

Jeffrey Scott Hartle has been named a vice president of the capital markets division at NationsBank, headquartered in Dallas, Texas.

Hartle, a native of Cape Girardeau, joined NationsBank as an investment representative in 1988. He is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University.

NationsBank is the fifth-largest banking company in the U.S., with $124 billion in assets. The company has banks in nine states and the District of Columbia.

Amy Flaker, a senior claims representative with State Farm Insurance Co., has received the Certificate in General Insurance by the Insurance Institute of America.

Flaker had to complete three national examinations, covering property and liability insurance principles, personal and commercial insurance, and insurance policy analysis to receive her certificate.

Flaker, who is also a member of the State Farm special disaster team, is a native of Cape Girardeau, where she attended Notre Dame High School and graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a B.S. in marketing.

Ruth A. Hathaway, chemist at Environmental Analysis South Inc., 1810 Plaza Way East in Cape Girardeau, recently attended the Municipal Waste: Sludge Management Workshop, held at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

The workshop covered the new 503 regulations, both federal and state, for sludge management implementation and compliance of the new standards for all categories of operators.

Environmental Analysis South recently received certification with the states of Illinois and Arkansas for analysis of drinking water.

John Klueppel, Carson Chemical Co., Sikeston, has received special recognition from Missouri Ag Industries Council, for his support of Mo-Ag's Clean Pesticide Container Recycling program, a project sponsored by Mo-Ag, chemical manufacturers, distributors and participating agri-chemical dealers.

More than 119,000 pounds of material was collected in 1993 from agri-chemical dealers statewide, and applications to participate in the 1994 program are currently being accepted.

John Behnken has been named general manager of AT&T's Small Business Division, serving businesses throughout Eastern Missouri that have fewer than 80 lines, including the Cape Girardeau area.

Behnken was formerly general manger for AT&T's Small Business Division in Phoenix.

Also added to the eastern division are area sales managers Mike Morey and Dennis Johnson. Morey was most recently area manager for AT&T in Ohio, and Johnson was area manager for Kansas City.

Maever's Management has been selected as "Business Associate of the Year", and Joanie Hahs was recognized as "Woman of the Year" by the Jackson Chapter of the American Business Women's Association during its recent annual business associate banquet.

Jim and Deb Maevers accepted the award for Maever's Management.

Walt Wildman was guest speaker at the banquet. He discussed prospective growth in the area and the Interstate 66 project.
