Janice Weber has been named provider representative for Network Management.

Thomas L. Sweeney, vice president, announced the appointment recently.

Weber will act as Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri representative to doctors and hospitals in a 28-county area of Southeast Missouri.

Weber joined the company in June 1981, and has been serving in human relations, information systems and provider contracting and reimbursement.

Lance LaFont has joined LaFont Auto Sales, 402 S. Kingshighway, as a salesman.

Lafont is the third generation involved in the company, which is owned by his father, Pat LaFont, and grandfather, Gene LaFont.

Dave Jackson has been appointed assistant sales manager at Van Matre Buick in Cape Girardeau.

Jackson, who has several years experience in the auto business, joined the firm as a salesman in November 1992.

Michelle Tomlinson of Cape Girardeau has joined State Farm Insurance, 334 N. Frederick, as an agent.

Tomlinson, who attended Southeast Missouri State University, previously worked in the consumer loan department of Boatmen's Bank.

Randall Sparkman has been promoted to the position of vice president of information systems at Health Services Corporation of America, 280 S. Mount Auburn Road.

A native of Cape Girardeau, Sparkman started with HSCA in 1989, and has helped develop the information systems department. Currently, the department assists in the creation of programs using the latest computer technology for applications in the area of group purchasing.
