Dr. William M. Catt, 608 W. Main in Jackson, has been appointed by the Missouri State Chiropractor Association to two committees -- Practice Guidelines Committee and Physicians Provider Organization Committee.
The guidelines committee's purpose is to revise the COCSA practice guidelines in compliance with the state, and the provider group will establish a PPO of the Chiropractors of Missouri.
Catt is president of District IV of the Missouri State Chiropractors Association.
Rebecca Payne, executive director of Safe House for Women in Cape Girardeau, will be guest speaker at the Tuesday meeting of the Girardot Chapter of Professional Secretaries International. The meeting will be held at the Drury Lodge, starting at 6:30 p.m.
Payne started volunteering at women's shelters in 1983 and has served at different shelters in a variety of capacities, including legal advocate, executive director and consultant.

Sharon Faulkner, president of the Cape Girardeau County Legal Secretaries Association, recently attended the Missouri Association of Legal Secretaries winter board conference at Kansas City.
Also attending the meeting from the local chapter were Glendella May, state chapter achievement chairman, and Cheryl Amos, chapter governor.
The local chapter held its March meeting at the law offices of Finch, Bradshaw, Strom & Steele in Cape Girardeau, with Christy Marshall as hostess.

Virgil Hargan of Metropolis, Ill., agency manager of the Pulaski-Alexander-Massac Country Companies Agency, and three agents of the firm have qualified for the insurance group's 1993 All American team.
Agents qualifying for the honor were Tim Caldwell of Tamms, Jerry Mohr and Terry Younkin, both of Metropolis.
Linda Hoffmeister, director with Southeast Missouri Area Agency on Aging, and Terrence Kelley, of Kelley Transit in Cape Girardeau, have been recognized by Bill Huff, president of Southeast Missouri Transportation Service.
Hoffmeister and Kelley serve on the Oversight Committee for Community Links, which received a national award for innovation in transportation during the Technology and Transportation Annual Conference, held recently in San Diego, Calif.
All members of the Oversight Committee were recognized for leadership and participation in rural public passenger service. Community Links is designed to assist travelers in providing rural public transportation for trips to work, school and other destinations.
