Ronald J. Long, a native of Cape Girardeau, has received a promotion from the British Petroleum Co.
Long will coordinate global tax planning initiatives for the company in its home office in London.
Long, a certified public accountant, previously served as director of tax planning for BP Oil Co., the U.S. refining and marketing segment of the company's operations.
Long is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, has a law degree from the University of Missouri and a master's of law degree in taxation from Washington University in St. Louis.
Prior to joining BP, Long served with the office of chief counsel of the Internal Revenue Service and on the graduate legal faculty at DePaul University in Chicago.
Danny Lynn of Cape Girardeau, owner of six Domino's Pizza stores, has been named to the Domino's Pizza Regional Advisory Council.
Lynn is one of six members of the regional council that includes eight Midwest states.
The Midwest Council is one of six Domino's councils, designed to develop open communications between franchiser-franchisee and to further develop the Domino's Pizza franchise system.
Domino's Pizza has more than 5,100 stores in the United States and in 39 international markets.
Patricia M. Riches, vice president of human resources at Capital Bancorporation Inc., has been certified as a Professional in Human Resources by the Human Resources Certification Institute of the International Society for Human Resource Management.
The professional certification requires four years of experience in the field.
Riches joined Capital in 1991. She previously held positions in planning and development, marketing, cash management and operations with financial service companies, ranging from community banks to super-regional banks.
Dale Hartlein of Bloomfield has joined Winchester Leasing & Financial of Sikeston as vice president of marketing.
Hartlein has more than 20 years experience in finance and marketing. He has worked with federal, state and local governments, and with private industry, defense contractors and international companies.
Winchester Leasing & Financial of Sikeston and its parent company, Richlund & Associates Inc. of St. Charles, leases a variety of equipment from computers to trucks and trailers, and agriculture equipment to manufacturing equipment.
Clarence Ackman was recently honored for 30 years service with the Missouri Board of Probation and Parole.
Ackman started his career Feb. 23, 1965, as a probation officer at Dexter.
He is currently district supervisor of the Cape Girardeau office.
During a recent luncheon, he received a plaque from the Cape Girardeau office and received a 30-year pin from regional administrator Bruce McClintock.
Vickie Summers of Cape Girardeau has been recognized as "Private Duty Employee of the Year" for the northern area of Visiting Nurses Association service area, which includes Cape Girardeau County.
Esther Morris of Cape Girardeau was recognized for 10 years' service with the visiting nurse's group. Morris is supervisor for Visiting Nurses Association Community Service, which provides homemaker services in the homes of the elderly and disabled in the area.
Awards were presented during a special association's meeting at Sikeston.
