Shirley Ferguson, a transcriptionist in Southeast Missouri Hospital's medical records department, and Evelyn Gass, a member of the hospital's radiation therapy nursing staff, were honored for 35 years service during the hospital's 26th Employee Award Banquet last week.

Ferguson and Gass were among 212 employees honored for a total of 2,220 years service.

Commemorative pins in recognition of five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service were presented by hospital administrator James W. Wente and director of human resource Chuck Keppler.

Carol Swan, accounts payable clerk in Southeast's accounting department, was honored for 30 years service. Six honored for 25 years service. They were: Bessie Crites, nurse assistant; Richard Meyer, assistant administrator; Merlin Mouser, food and nutrition services employee; Kenneth Parson, medical technologist; Marilyn Schott, nurse manager; and Ella Woeltje, nurse assistant.

Recognized for 20 years service were: Linda Bollinger, nurse; Yvonne Burlbaugh, nurse; Mary Craven staff technologist; Cecelia Deck, nurse; Betty Frierson, secretary; Glenda Godwin, secretary; Ann Hale, radiology transport; Mary Kluesner, central service; Claudine Lambert, nurse assistant; Brenda Morris, secretary; Carol Pind, secretary; Donna Roth, secretary; Deanna Ware, nurse; and Vickie Westrich, accountant.

John F. "Skip" Lottes III, a third-generation hardware store owner at Perryville, has been named to the board of directors of the 6,000-member True Value retailer cooperative.

Lottes joined the family business in 1963 after attending the University of Missouri. His family has been involved in the Rozier Mercantile Co. since 1903, when his grandfather helped start the business. Rozier's joined the True Value Cooperative in 1974.

The True Value board has 14 directors, elected by the membership. The cooperative, headquartered in Chicago, includes more than 6,000 True Value retail members in the United States, Canada and 47 countries around the world.

Lottes is also president of the Perryville Development Corp. and is a board member at the Bank of Perryville and Citizens Electric Corp.

Lottes' family legacy and 30-plus years experience in the hardware business make him a welcome addition to our board," said Dan Cotter president and chief executive officer of Cotter & Company, wholeslaer to True Value.

Susan Dry, an enterostomal therapy nurse at St. Francis Medical Center, has been named the 1996 "Nurse of the Year" at St. Francis.

Dry, a native of Jackson, was one of three finalists for the honor. Other finalists were Kathy Leimer, outpatient rehabilitation case manager, and Cathy Flentge Tenkhoff, education department instructor.

Dry is a graduate of Poplar Bluff School of Practice Nursing. She received an associate's degree at Southeast Missouri State University, and earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Webster University of St. Louis. She is working on her master's degree through Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.

She previously worked as an intensive-care staff nurse and patient care manager at Southeast Missouri Hospital, and as a diabetic educator at the Internal Medicine Group. She started at St. Francis in 1981, as an intensive-care staff nurse.

She is certified in advanced cardiac life support and as a trauma nurse specialist. She is also a critical care registered nurse.

Bill Hodges of the Albrecht Hodges Insurance Agency of Cape Girardeau has received the President's Award by Cameron Mutual Insurance Co.

The President's Award, for excelling in operations, is the most prestigious award an agent can receive in the Cameron Co. Hodges received his award during a recent awards ceremony at the company's headquarters in Cameron, Mo.

Cameron Mutual Insurance is a 104-year-old company that provides personal and commercial insurance services in Missouri, Arkansas and Iowa. Cameron Mutual has a claims office in Cape Girardeau. Other Cameron companies are Cameron Country Mutual Insurance, Cameron Life Insurance and Eagle National Assurance Corp.

Jonathan K, Foley and Cliff Ford, both of Cape Girardeau, have been named advisory board directors at Commerce Bank.

Foley, a physician at Cape Girardeau Surgical Clinic Inc., and Ford, president of Ford & Sons Funeral Home Inc., join David Dormeyer, Alan Gregory, Rick Blattner, John Layton and Joda Bess on the bank's advisory board.

Foley, a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Missouri State Surgical Society, and is a past chairman of the Department of Surgery at both Southeast Missouri Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center. He is chief of staff at St. Francis Medical Center.

Ford, a graduate of the University of Mississippi, Oxford, with a degree in business, is a member of the Missouri Funeral Directors Association, National Selected Morticians and Order of the Golden Rule. He is also a member of the Community Counseling Board and a member of the Cape Christian School Board.

Laurel Adkisson has been selected as the No. 1 Commerce Bancshares Inc. Commendations Honoree for the St. Louis Region for activities during 1995. The citation recognizes her for involvement in community, school, church and cultural activities. Commerce Bancshares Inc. will donate $350 to an organization of Adkisson's choice.

Adkisson works as a financial services officer with Commerce Bank at Cape Girardeau. She is a member of the Zonta Club, the Area Wide United Way and the Riverfest Association Board of Directors.

Earlier this year, Adkisson was selected as one of the 1996 10 Outstanding Young Missourians by the state Jaycees. Adkisson gives considerable time to the region, working with American Legion, American Cancer Society and American Heart Association. She has also been active in March of Dimes, Zonta Club, the Area Wide United Way and the Riverfest Association.

C.J. Morrill of Morrill Construction Co., Inc., Cape Girardeau, accepted a special award from Ceco Building Systems recently.

Morrill Construction, the authorized Ceco Building Systems builder here, received the "$250,000 Annual Volume Award" during the annual Ceco Builders Meeting held at Scottsdale, Ariz.

Ceco Building Systems designs and fabricates metal building systems and has sales and manufacturing facilities throughout the United States.

Ceco builders from across the nation attended the conference to review new products and technology and discuss construction safety.

Sharon Williams, owner of Williams' Beltone Hearing Centers in Cape Girardeau and Poplar Bluff, has been elected treasurer of the Missouri Hearing Society.

Williams, who was elected to the state post during the society's annual convention held recently at Osage Beach, has been associated with Williams' Hearing Centers since 1988. She acquired the Beltone dealership in July 1994. She is board-certified in hearing instrument sciences by the International Hearing Society.

Wilma Baldwin has joined Century 21 Dutch Realty, 528 E. Jackson Blvd., Jackson, as a sales associate.

Baldwin worked more than 20 years with contractors and individuals, interior decorating and design.

Dave Wilson, of Cape Girardeau, has joined McDowell Ford Pontiac Buick at 909 S. Perryville Blvd., in Perryville.

Wilson has more than 10 years experience in auto sales.

Ginger Gray has joined South East Missouri Bank as an investment executive, representing Prime Vest Financial Services Inc.

Prime Vest offers a full range of investment services.

Gray has seven years experience in the financial services industry, most recently with Equitable Bank in the Dallas area.

Gray, a native of Decatur, Ill., is a graduate of the University of North Texas in Denton.

Bonnie Lukefahr was winner of a family Bible, presented recently by Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel Inc. of Cape Girardeau.

The Bible is the first of six to be presented by the funeral home during a special promotion this year.
