Cherie Harris, an 11-year employee of Leet Eye Care in Cape Girardeau has been named the Missouri Optometric Association's para vice president. Harris is a certified national contact lens examiner and a certified paraoptometric assistant. Harris is Southeast Missouri's trustee on the association's paraoptometric board. Paraoptometrics assist optometrists in the delivery of eye care services.
Ken Volkerding of Jackson, a district representative with Modern Woodmen of America, was agent of the month in the Allen Phillips' District for August. Volkerding has been with Modern Woodmen since November 2004.
