The Workforce Investment Board of Southeast Missouri elected Kathy Sanders of Flowers by Sanders in Hayti, Mo., as chairwoman effective July 1 to replace John Moorman of Versa Tech Inc. in Fredericktown, Mo. Moorman had been chairman for the past four years. He remains on the board as the Madison County representative. Sanders has been on the board since 1999. The Workforce Investment Board operates Missouri Career Centers in 13 Southeast Missouri counties.
Dr. Veena D. Divecha, radiation oncologist at Cape Radiation Oncology, has received credentials from MD Anderson Physicians Network through Saint Francis Medical Center. That provides her access to treatments developed by the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. A subsidiary of Houston's MD Anderson Cancer Center, the Physicians Network is an affiliation of oncology providers. Divecha is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology. She earned her medical degree from the Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences in Karnataka, India, and completed her residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City. Divecha joins 23 other physicians already with network credentials at Saint Francis Medical Center.
Brandon Suchman has joined The Rose Bed Inn in Cape Girardeau as business manager. "Brandon comes to us with varying business experiences and ideas," owner Eldon Nattier said. Suchman had an extensive career in the military before relocating in Cape Girardeau.
Janice Ann Wetherington, Randy McLain and Patricia Baker have joined the Comfort Keepers home help staff in Cape Girardeau. Wetherington will assist with consumer skills training and office support. McLain is working as a Medicaid biller/office support staff member, and Baker is working as a scheduler/office support staff member. Comfort Keepers is also a long-term care insurance provider, client private pay provider, Missouri Medicaid provider and veterans and surviving spouse benefits provider.
Clay Hurst, Farmers Insurance district manager, and Tim Bryant, Farmers Insurance agent, both of Cape Girardeau, have been inducted into the Farmers Insurance Topper Club and invited to attend the 2011 annual meeting of Farmers' top sales producers. Both Hurst and Bryant are being recognized by Famers Insurance for their sales achievements during 2010. The annual meeting will take place in Santa Fe, N.M.
Bernie Schnurbusch of Schnurbusch-Rudert Financial Services LLC in Perryville, Mo., has attained membership in The Premier Association of Financial Professionals Million Dollar Round Table. Less than 1 percent of the world's life insurance and financial services professionals attain the designation, according to the Million Dollar Round Table organization.
James Frank, a driver with FedEx in Cape Girardeau, received third place in the step van class at the Missouri Trucking Association's 44th annual Missouri Truck Driving Championships. The competition, held last month in Springfield, Mo., evaluated more than 150 drivers on their knowledge of the industry, first aid, safety, security and vehicle inspections. Participants were interviewed by industry experts and completed a driving obstacle course representing everyday conditions.
