Agent to represent Aflac

Michelle Long of Jackson has joined J.P. and Associates as an independent agent representing Aflac. She has more than 17 years of marketing, sales and public relations experience. Long is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, a member of the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce, a 2008 graduate of Leadership Cape and has served as a member of the Chamber Ambassadors, Cape Girardeau Rotary Club and volunteer projects in the Cape Girardeau Area. Long's previous work experience includes being public information coordinator for the city of Cape Girardeau, Internet sales director for KFVS12 and with her family's business, Crosnoe Gold and Silver.

Big River adds five to staff

Big River Telephone of Cape Girardeau recently added five members to its operations staff. Niteeka Chaudhry has joined Big River as a database administrator. Chaudhry is from Karnal, India, and graduated with a master's degree from Southeast Missouri State University with a major in industrial management. She also has a bachelor's in computer science and engineering, and was received top honors in the computer science department at Doon Valley Institute of Engineering and Technology and in the computer science department at Kurukshetra University. Charlie Wallgren is now working at Big River as an assistant in network support systems. Wallgren is a Cape Girardeau native who is working on his degree in industrial technology with an emphasis in telecommunications at Southeast. Daniele Strahan, of Scott City, has been hired in Big River's provisioning department. Strahan is certified in child development. Andrew Lambert of Sikeston, Mo., has joined Big River as a customer experience representative. Lambert graduated from Southeast with a sports management and business degree. Andy Huff is now working in Big River's provisioning department. Huff, of Farmington, Mo., has an associate degree in electronic technology and is working on his bachelor's in telecommunications.

Andrea Bloyd has ben hired to replace Dave Walker as administrator of Jackson Manor. Walker has accepted a position with the University of Missouri assisting nursing home administrators throughout the state. Bloyd's career in long-term care began in 1987 when she started as a dishwasher. She worked her way up and became a licensed administrator in 1997. Jackson Manor, a 90-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, recently received the American Healthcare Association/National Center for Assisted Living's National Quality Award Program Bronze Commitment to Excellence.

New instructor at The Source

The Source - Yoga 'n More has hired Stephen M. Brand as an instructor of IntenSati, a workout program that fuses aerobics, martial arts, dance, yoga, strength conditioning, spoken affirmations and simple choreography. Brand recently taught IntenSati at the Greenville Aquatics and Fitness Center in Greenville, N.C. He has a master's degree in vocal performance and was the director of choral activities at Pitt Community College and the director of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Greenville. He also was the director of the Brotherhood of Harmony Men's Barbershop Chorus, The Community POPS Chorus, The Celebration Singers and the Heart and Soul Chorus, and gave voice lessons.

Kridelbaugh attends audit training

Alan Kridelbaugh recently attended a two-day symposium on governmental auditing conducted by the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants in Columbia, Mo. Kridelbaugh is a certified public accountant and a certified fraud examiner with the local firm Begley, Young, Unterreiner & White LLC. He obtained his MBA from Southeast Missouri State University. Government Auditing Standards require all auditors involved in planning, directing, conducting, or reporting on governmental audits to earn 24 hours of governmental continuing professional education every two years.
