New owners at Broadway Prescription Shop

Cape Girardeau's oldest pharmacy, Broadway Prescription Shop is under new ownership. New owners Kevin Wood and Lee Schlitt are carrying on the legacy of the pharmacy originally owned by the George family. Homer George opened the doors of Broadway Prescription Shop in 1932, and his family owned and operated it for 75 years. Wood graduated from Southeast Missouri State University and received his doctorate in pharmacy from South University School of Pharmacy in Savannah, Ga. Before purchasing Broadway Prescription Shop, Wood managed the Target pharmacy. Schlitt, originally from Cape Girardeau, graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University with a business management degree. Schlitt has worked in the banking field for the past 11 years, most recently as a vice president of Capaha Bank.
