Kenny Gibbar, foreman and head operator at the Jackson Wastewater Treatment Facility, received the Wastewater Operator of the Year Award on April 23 at the Southeast Section meeting of the Missouri Water and Wastewater Conference at the Osage Centre in Cape Girardeau.
Gibbar has been an employee of Jackson for 36 years and has worked at the facility since 1995. As head operator, Gibbar oversees the treatment of 1.8 million gallons of wastewater a day, the biosolids disposal program, 17 lift stations and the maintenance of more than 100 miles of sewer pipes.
Gibbar is eligible for State Operator of the Year recognition that will be chosen from six regional winners in September at the Missouri Water and Wastewater Conference's statewide meeting.
Nicole Allcock, director of Pharmacy Services for SoutheastHEALTH, was named a fellow by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She is one of 32 pharmacists who will be honored in June for excellence in pharmacy practice.
Members who achieve fellow status demonstrated sustained commitment or contribution to excellence in practice for at least 10 years, contributed to knowledge in the field, demonstrated active involvement and leadership in ASHP and other organizations, and been involved in and committed to educating practitioners and others.
Dave Collins joined the staff of HD Media Systems, 2126 Broadway in Cape Girardeau.
Collins has been in the audio/video industry for several years and has acquired industry training and many certifications, including Crestron and Control4 certifications.
Candi Wooten was named Leet EyeCare's April Above and Beyond Award recipient.
Wooten is the clinical and contact lens manager at the 3230 Blattner Drive location.
Pat Cameron was named 2014 Auxilian of the Year at the annual Auxiliary and Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on April 22 at Saint Francis Medical Center.
Cameron began volunteering for the hospital 15 years ago and has logged more than 10,000 hours in the Cancer Institute, where she volunteers two days a week.
