Financial adviser invited to conference in Phoenix
Edward Jones financial adviser Donna J. Domian of Cape Girardeau was recognized with an invitation to the firm's annual managing partner conference in Phoenix. The three-day meeting brings the firm's most successful representatives together with managing partner James Weddle for talks on the firm's future and challenges facing the financial services industry.
Clinical social worker joins Cross Trail staff
Cross Trail Medical Center has added Ken Green to the staff. Green is a clinical social worker and will have office hours at clinics in Cape Girardeau, Marble Hill, Mo., and Advance, Mo. He will work to integrate mental health care into the medical care of patients.
Winter elected president of state association
Carol Winter, co-owner of Schaefer Water Centers, was recently elected president of the Missouri Water Quality Association. Winter is the first woman to hold the office and the third member of her family to hold the position. Winter plans to strengthen public relations and information on new products and new technologies in the water treatment industry on a state and regional level.
Gastroenterologist joins Saint Francis staff
Saint Francis Medical Center announced that Dr. Michael R. Freeman has joined the hospital and will be heading Cape Gastroenterology Specialists. Freeman is board certified in internal medicine with a gastroenterology subspecialty. He has more than 20 years of experience practicing GI medicine locally. Freeman received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
Nurse receives award from Webster University
Vickie Schnurbusch, a registered nurse and patient care coordinator of Southeast Hospice, has received the Dr. Margaret Droste Award from Webster University in St. Louis for her contributions to the nursing profession and commitment to community service. The award, named after the founder of the nursing program at the university, is presented annually to a graduate student nominated by the faculty. Schnurbusch graduated with a master's degree in nursing.
Kerber, Eck & Braeckel adds two partners
Kerber, Eck & Braeckel LLP of Cape Girardeau has two new partners, James Erlacker of the firm announced. Jeffrey Hay, a CPA from Sikeston, Mo., and Nancy LeGrand of Cape Girardeau, who each have 25 years with the firm, were given the partner designation. Kerber, Eck & Braeckel is a regional accounting firm with 22 partners and 130 professionals and offices in Cape Girardeau and St. Louis as well as five locations in Illinois and Wisconsin.
Nurse receives award for overall excellence
Amy O'Rear, a cardiac nurse at Southeast Missouri Hospital, received the RN-BSN Student Award for Overall Excellence at the University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing banquet. O'Rear, of Jackson, is also a floating per diem nurse at Saint Francis Medical Center. O'Rear was honored for her work ethic, oral presentation skills and devotion to her career.
